I never tested it, on location I use the rangers.
But I would look at the gas generators from for example Yamaha ?

Maybe someone else can give a more exact answer ?

Honda generators are well-regarded as (one of) the best in that regard - they are fitted with true sine wave inverters, and will run your BXRi's all day, every day, without a problem.

But I, too, would recommend a Ranger instead. Cheesy

you guys keep mentioning the ranger. Is it possible to connect monolights like the BX500, Dlites or 600RX to the Ranger.

I use a Naquadah generator. it can power any number of strobes or continuous movie set lights. It is good clean power.

hello,

i also orderded the BX ri 500/500 set, but the shop informed me that it will not support the 190CM Octa. that i will need a RX set for those purposes

other sources tell me that the big octa has it's own supportsystem and that any elinchrom flash wil fit that specific octa

maybe you can help me with this ?

Which store was that because they are wrong.

You can mount all modifiers you want on it.

Hello Frank,
I am currently looking to get a BX250Ri, mainly to use as a hair light, as the remote control will come in very handy.

However, looking on the Elinchrom site, I notice that these units have 3 radio settings....
Off
On
and High Speed.

I would assume that in the on position, that they communicate fully with a universal transmitter, giving control over power output and modeling lamp. Could you therefore explain what the third position of "High Speed" would give?

Many thanks

Steve.

High speed would point to the new skyport protocol in which higher sync speeds are possible.
I did not yet test this by the way.

There seems to be some confusion in various forums over this so i was wondering if you could clear this up

Does the skyport USB controller work with the new BXRi 500 built in skyport?

Cheers

As far as I know, no, they would only work on the RX.

But I have to be honest that I don't see why they would not COULD work on the BX.
