I used my kit for the first time backstage during a fashion show in Amsterdam, this is one of the reasons I bought it. It performed flawlessly, was light enough to carry around and I am as well surprised to see how well it performs with a bare head !

Hi Frank. Thanks very much for all the hard work and long hours in bringing us all up to speed on the new Quadra. The units only just arrived here in Australia this week I believe. I ordered a two head kit last week, so to get the call that they have arrived was very exciting to say the least, will be picking them up this Friday,19th June. So, thanks again for all you have done so far.........it's very much appreciated indeed.

I hate you all I'm told mine are 'en route' but it's up to customs really when they land.

I picked up my 'To Go' kit last Friday. Very impressed and couldn't be happier with it. Very quick to set up, the Quadra and battery snap together easily with no fuss and charging was extremely quick, I was amazed to be shooting in an hour. I made a few custom settings from the menu which wasn't difficult, I just need to keep that manual handy in the Quadra case for future reference. Couldn't really take it outdoors proper over the weekend because of rain, so as soon as it fine up and we get to see some sun I will be out there. It's Winter here, today was the solstice, so it's all up hill from now (: Thanks again to Frank for helping make my mind up about adding this unit to my toolkit. Peter

Well mine did arrive I didn't realise they would be A heads with the 2 head kit, so I'm delighted. Some cool things were that the softbox (lasotlite ezybox OEM) I use with my speedlights clip onto the relflector with no bracket. I also got 2 of the adaptors for normal Elinchrom modifiers. Not shooting until Sunday, so hopefully should use them in anger properly then!

Hee Frank, The quadra seems like a perfect solution for the amateur photographer. You can use them outside, and inside (studio).
Do you know if it's possible to connect the quadra heads to a normal elinchrom (Deept Octa) softbox, or a snout, beautydish. ?
I ask this because they (fotoslits) describe that it's also ideal for in a studio, but you don't always want an open refector as the only option for in the studio.

With the optional convertor it is possible. I don't know about the larger softboxes but the beautydish should be no problem.

First of all a wonderfull and helpfull blog! Back to the topic, I have a question concerning the power distribution of the Quadra. According to the specs the power distribution is as followed: A channel output = 100% B channel output = 33% A+B channel output = 100% My question is when using A+B channel output does it means 50%+50% (max 200w+200w)output? Just to be sure I'm reading it correctly! Or is it entirely different? Regards, Yammie......
