Sometimes you have the oppertunity to test out some amazing stuff, like the AFiII series cameras, new strobes, software packages and all those other wonderful toys.....

But sometimes there are also those little things that make life so much easier.
Enter RESIZE MAGIC.

This little plugin and standalone program does something so simple that most people forget that it can save a lot of time when you have the right tools.

First the plugin.
The resize magic plugin is part of the scripts section in photoshop and resizes your 8 bits single layer files to any format you want (well at least all formats I tried).
There are three options with different settings for sharpness and that's about it.
So what's all the fuzz about that I take the time to write a review.
It's in the quality.

In the time that most of our work is shown on the internet it's very important that resizing is done correctly and without too much loss of detail or even worse adding terrible halo's by downsizing.
Resize magic may seem just another way to resize but as you can see in the two enclosed files there is more sharpness in the resize magic version.
The first one is photoshop with the settings I like best for the resize of the 22MP leaf files, and the second one is resize magic.
Take especially note to the logo and the fine detail like the hairs.

Than the standalone
On the PC I used several utilities for resizing folders filled with files or a series of images.
With the Mac I use aperture but somehow with resizing I don't really like the workflow if I want high quality resizes.
Don't get me wrong NIK sharpner and Aperture is a killer combination but it's also something that takes me much longer than just selecting the folder and resizing the files.
This is what resize magic can do for you.

The results are what's important but also workflow
When you visit http://www.fsoft.it/imaging/en/default.htm you can see some samples and a small description of what the program does.
For me it's the perfect plugin/program combination to speed up my workflow and when using it in photoshop my files have a more crisply look when downsized with Resize magic.
When you are still using photoshop to resize make 100% sure you check out resize magic, you will love it.

Small and simple in appearance (as a good plugin should be) but highly recommend in quality.

Having read your review about resize magic I decide to download it and found that it does what it says on the tin.
Thanks Frank
